Design Development and Fabrication was formed in 1997 when Mike Jones started his full time consulting efforts. Mike graduated from UC Berkeley in 1984 with a BS in Chemical Engineering. He started working in the medical device industry in the fall of 1984. After a few years of work experience, he started a Masters Program in Mechanical Engineering, graduating in 1995.
Throughout this time Mike worked in early stage companies where he developed both engineering, project management and full range of early stage concept through production product development skills.
When starting Design Development and Fabrication, Mike purchased machine shop equipment, computers and software to deliver engineering capabilities from concept through production. We have continued to develop our capabilities with CNC mills, lathes and CAD/CAM software. Additionally, prototype molding capabilities, mold making and inspection equipment have been developed or purchased.
Design Development & Fabrication is now a full service engineering firm, located in Southern California, capable of working in early concept development, prototype fabrication, product development, project management, and even component machining. Our unique capabilities allow us to work with local companies and businesses across the country.
