Our extensive experience includes the following materials: Silicone, polyurethane, resorbable biomaterials (polylactic acid, polyglycolic acid, starch, chitosan), medical thermoplastic for injection molding and extrusion.
Molding
Our experience with thermoplastic materials includes polyurethane, polyolefins, polycarbonates, nylons and thermoplastic elastomers. Design Devlopment & Fabrication has designed molds for thermoplastic parts ranging in volume from a single pellet to structural components approximately 16 by 24 inches. Additionally, we have designed molds and run parts in 2-part thermoset silicones. Our projects have ranged from one off prototypes to production tooling. For small parts we utilize in-house molding presses, for larger parts we utilize the services of one of our 20 year production...
Implantable Materials
Resorbable materials for breast biopsy markers, implantable balloons, breast implants, and intra-arterial embolizing agents are among the many products and materials worked with over the years at Design Development & Fabrication. We have extensive experience with polylactic acid, polyglycolic acid, polysaccharides, silicones and polyurethanes for implantable molding projects. We also have fabrication experience with Titanium and its alloys used in implants. Balloon Detail SenoMark GelMark Pellets StarchMark 2 Starchmark 3 UltraCore MRI 2 Covidien Onxy LES...
